The Municipality of Saluzzo (CN), along with the supporters of Saluzzo and Terre del Monviso's bid for Italian Capital of Culture 2024, is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the creation of a logo to be used throughout the application process.

The logo should visually represent a broad region that includes Saluzzo, the Occitan valleys, and the Terre del Monviso, encapsulating a new development strategy centered on culture. This strategy aims to attract startups and cultural enterprises that engage with modern languages and digital innovation. Additionally, the logo should include a payoff (slogan) that conveys the project's key communicative intentions.

The inspiration for the project draws from a deep connection to Saluzzo’s iconic landmarks. After thorough research, the Civic Tower emerged as the ideal symbol for the logo. This historic tower, emblematic of the Renaissance transformation that established Saluzzo as a cultural capital, houses the ancient bell that has rung out over the city for centuries. From its peak, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the old town, the surrounding countryside, and the majestic Western Alps.

The design concept was born from the experience of standing atop the tower, gazing out at the breathtaking Alpine landscape, and reflecting on Saluzzo’s vibrant history and promising future.
